Ace it! - Practice your Presentation, Get Feedback, Give a Better Talk.

“If you can't explain it simply, you don't understand it well enough.” – Einstein. This interactive workshop is for anyone who wants to present clear, easily understood technical talks. Still polishing your presentation for Botany 2020? This workshop is for you. Not presetting this year, but want to give a clear technical talk? This workshop is for you. You will learn principles of good slide design, how to use clear visuals to support your talk, how to focus on your most important findings, and presentation skills including how to connect with your audience. You will have time to prepare and give a 5-minute talk, perhaps based on your Botany 2020 presentation. Everyone will present before the end of the workshop. Positive feedback will be given, and constructive feedback will be available to those who want it. Before the workshop please prepare a rough draft of your slides. A link to an upload site will be emailed to you a few days before the workshop. Please bring your laptop. Lunch will be provided by iDigBio.

The workshop is cosponsored by iDigBio, the American Bryological and Lichenological Society (ABLS), American Fern Society (AFS), American Society of Plant Taxonomists (ASPT), International Association for Plant Taxonomy (IAPT), and the Society of Herbarium Curators (SHC).
